  • Our customer operates a transactional platform designed to provide a showcase for B2C companies of all sizes.

  • It seeks to increase the visibility of companies by offering them a secure, transactional space to present their products and services to consumers.

Challenge

  • When it comes to transactional platforms, competition on digital platforms is fierce. We need to be at the cutting edge of technology and offer customers a simple experience.

  • To make browsing and searching as efficient as possible, we need to develop a common vocabulary in terms of product nomenclatures and descriptions. This is a major challenge when merchants renting a shop window all have their own way of doing things.

  • It's also an obstacle for the merchant trying to classify his current products and services into the given categories. This can lead to errors that have a negative impact on the customer experience.

Solutions

  • To optimize the product registration process, AI tools have been developed to suggest categories based on product name and description.

  • An image recognition tool has also been used to enhance the ability to predict the category of an item from the photo. It is also a security tool, capable of detecting unauthorized goods (e.g. weapons).
